“My daughter has had tutors before. None of them made her actually like math. Nick did. Her grades went up, she was placed in an advanced class this year, and she looks forward to their sessions, which I genuinely did not think was possible. I can't recommend him enough.”

-Sasha C., Parent

Top 3%

SAT Math, nationally

“Nick made my son like math again. What used to be scary became something he could actually enjoy. His grades went up, he passed the Regents with a high score, and he now talks about math in plain English instead of in panic.”

-Alfredo P., Parent

Nick works best with…

The student with a deadline

Regents in 6 weeks. SAT in 8 weeks. A grade that needs to turn around this semester. Every session is built around that specific target date, not a generic pace.

The student who is smart but stuck

They understand most of the material, but one unresolved gap is pulling down every test score. Nick finds it in the first session.

The student whose family speaks Spanish at home

Nick conducts sessions in English and Spanish. No translator needed. Parents can communicate with Nick directly in the language that’s easier for them.

If this sounds like your child, the assessment is the first right step.

About Nick:

Nick Mercado is an honors engineering student at the Grove School of Engineering on a full academic scholarship. He scored in the top 3% nationally on SAT Math, has run SAT boot camps, and taught at Mathnasium before launching his own practice.

He's currently taking Differential Equations. He knows what it feels like to push through a hard problem and come out the other side, and he brings that into every session, whether it's pre-algebra or a college midterm. Fully bilingual in English and Spanish. Experienced with IEP students.

Who Nick works with

Middle school: 7th and 8th graders who work with Nick enter high school knowing the material, not guessing their way through it. Fractions, pre-algebra, and ratios stop being a weakness and start being a foundation.

7th & 8th grade: fractions, pre-algebra, ratios. Stop the gaps before they compound.

High school and College: Students leave sessions able to do the work on their own, not just follow along in class. Whether the goal is passing Regents, raising a grade, or surviving Calc II, every session targets exactly what's blocking progress.

All topics in Algebra I through Calculus

SAT math prep: After the assessment, students know which domains are costing them the most points and why. Sessions are built around closing those gaps, not covering ground they already know.

Become a master at every domain: Algebra, Advanced Math, Geometry, and Statistics.

Three steps to a plan that actually works.

1.) Take the Free Assessment
A short diagnostic is completed online in about 30 minutes, so Nick can see exactly where your child stands before they ever meet.

2.) Get the gap analysis
Nick reviews the results and walks you through a personalized breakdown: what's solid, what's shaky, and what's costing your child points right now.

3.) Start the plan
Sessions are built around your child's specific gaps, not a generic curriculum. Every session has a purpose.

Ready to find out exactly where your child stands?

It takes 20 minutes. Nick reviews every result personally and follows up within 24 hours with a clear explanation of what's missing and what it's costing your child right now. No commitment. No cost.

Questions parents ask before the first session:

  • Sessions costs are dependent on complexity of the math, and how long sessions are. If you want to know how much I would charge for you, contact me!

  • All sessions are online through Google Meet You get a link, your student logs in, and I have a digital whiteboard ready. No commute, all from the comfort of your home.

  • Most students will see improvement after 3-4 sessions. After taking the free assessment, I could give you a realistic timeline to close your student’s gaps.

  • Absolutely. I have specific experience with IEP students and adjust pacing, explanation style, and session structure to fit each student’s plan. Share the relevant IEP goals during the assessment review and I will address them directly.

  • Tutoring centers and programs use a cirriculum built for an average student. Nick works from your student’s actual diagnostic results. The gaps are different for every student, so the plan should also be different.
